Aberdare’s stories and stained glass →
Make a town visit from local history, church heritage and an optional short walk.
Stained glass, heritage and a changing gallery / ABERDARE
Step into St Elvan’s for the scale of the church, its stained glass and the exhibition space added through its restoration. Self-guided resources help you look beyond the architecture, while the café offers an optional pause. It remains a working place of worship as well as a community venue, so a visit should fit around services and events.

Ordinary visits and exhibitions are free, but a concert or arranged activity may need its own ticket. Do not assume a daytime visit includes access to every event space.
Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 45–90 minutes for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
