A compact history day with outdoor breathing room. Walking and visit times are editorial estimates, not verified step-free routes; check the museum’s opening day first.
- Grosvenor Museum
Allow 60-90 minutes for the Roman galleries. Take 45-60 minutes for lunch around Grosvenor Street or Bridge Street afterwards.
- Chester Roman Amphitheatre
Allow about 10-15 minutes to walk east through the centre, then 20-40 minutes looking at the remains. Use the perimeter if steps into the arena are unsuitable.
- Grosvenor Park
Allow 5-10 minutes to reach the park entrance by St John’s, then 45-60 minutes for a walk, rest or play. Check gate closing time and leave a return-journey margin.
