Who operates this site
ThingsToDo.org.uk is operated by UKC LABS LTD, registered in England and Wales, company number 15229367. Registered office: 86–90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE.
What we collect
We count page requests, homepage searches, searches without results, homepage card clicks and outbound link clicks without analytics cookies or unique visitor identifiers. These are aggregate request counts, not unique visitor figures. Recognised crawlers and signed-in editor traffic are excluded, but automated traffic may still be counted.
Feedback stores the page, feedback type, message and submission time. Please do not include personal or sensitive information. Feedback is visible only to the editor and is removed after 365 days, with backup copies retained for up to 14 additional days. Short-lived pseudonymous request keys help limit spam; server security logs can contain IP addresses and requested URLs (including search terms) and are rotated separately. The aggregate discovery statistics do not store search terms.
An essential session cookie protects forms and remembers editor sign-in. The optional accommodation map described below may use third-party cookies after you choose to load it. External sites have their own privacy policies.
Optional accommodation map
Destination guides (except free guides) and attraction pages offer an optional Stay22 accommodation map. Locally hosted area previews do not connect to the map provider. It does not load or contact Stay22 until you choose to load it. After that choice, Stay22 and its partners receive connection information such as your IP address and browser details and may use cookies for analytics and booking attribution. You can use the guide without loading the map, or close it to stop further map interaction; closing it does not delete cookies already set. Opening the separate map link visits Stay22 instead.
We count map-open and separate-map-link requests in aggregate, without unique visitor identifiers. These are not booking counts. Stay22 handles provider-click and booking reporting under separate ThingsToDo campaign labels. See Stay22’s privacy policy.
How recommendations work
Activity facts are checked against linked official sources. Visit durations and suggested day plans are editorial estimates, not promises from venues or accounts of personal visits. Always check providers for current opening, prices, suitability and accessibility. Venue photography is credited on our photography credits page. Our illustrated social-sharing card is decorative, not a photograph of a particular place.
Bookings and affiliate links
Links currently lead to official providers unless marked as affiliate links. Where an affiliate link is enabled, we may receive commission for a booking. Bookings and availability are managed by the linked provider.
Contact form data
When you contact us, we use your name, email address and message to handle your enquiry and reply. Advertising enquiries also include your business or property name, website, location and advertising interest. We use these to assess suitability and discuss potential placements; submitting an enquiry involves no payment, commitment or marketing signup. We process this information for our legitimate interests in answering enquiries and maintaining this directory. Please do not send sensitive information or booking/payment details.
Your message is sent through Resend to our Google-hosted email inbox. We do not keep a submissions database or use contact details for marketing. Messages may be retained in our mailbox and email-provider records while needed to handle the enquiry and any related follow-up; we have not set an automatic deletion period. Resend and Google process email under their own data-protection arrangements, which may involve processing outside the UK. Contact submissions are excluded from ordinary API access logs; security controls use connection information to limit abuse. Normal page visits remain subject to the logging described above.
Use the contact form to ask about access, correction or deletion of your contact data. You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
