FOWEY GUIDE Independent ideas for your day out

Beach and coastal views / FOWEY

Readymoney Cove

Readymoney is Fowey’s small sandy cove near the estuary mouth, reached by a waterfront walk from the centre. The beach, benches and views make a worthwhile destination on their own, with the climb to St Catherine’s Castle an optional extension rather than part of every beach visit.

Before you go

The beach shop no longer has a beach wheelchair available; plan around the actual access you need.

The practical details

Where to find it
South of central Fowey
Directions and arrival information ↗
Tickets and booking
No beach admission charge. Shop hours vary separately; one public toilet is normally available around the clock, with additional toilets April–October. Allow twenty to thirty minutes from the centre at a relaxed pace.
Access and getting around
There is a public slipway onto the sand, but no normal visitor parking at the cove itself and no beach wheelchair available from the shop. The walk has slopes and some sections without pavement. The beach operator manages a free toilet with baby changing.
Official access information ↗
Visiting with children
Check local water-quality signs and conditions, and keep swimmers inside the marked buoy line. A small cove is not a guarantee of safe swimming. The shore and benches are enough for a visit without entering the water.

Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.

Make it part of your day

Allow 45–90 minutes for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
