ST DAVIDS GUIDE Independent ideas for your day out

Art and a practical introduction to the coast / ST DAVIDS

Oriel y Parc National Park Discovery Centre

Visit the gallery and discovery centre for art connected with Wales and help planning your time in the National Park. Changing exhibitions give you a reason to look closely before heading out into the landscape, while local information helps you choose a walk that suits the weather and your group. It is a useful free indoor stop on the edge of the city.

Before you go

The main gallery closes earlier than the discovery centre, and the café has its own shorter hours. Check the current exhibition and any workshop booking before planning a whole afternoon around them.

The practical details

Where to find it
High Street / Caerfai Road, St Davids SA62 6NW
Directions and arrival information ↗
Tickets and booking
Ordinary entry is free. Parking, the café and booked activities cost separately. Check the main gallery and discovery-centre opening independently, especially in winter. If requesting a beach wheelchair or other loan equipment, arrange it ahead and confirm collection, transport and return.
Access and getting around
The centre has wide automatic doors. Most services are on one level, with lift access to the main gallery and tower. From the car park, cross Caerfai Road and take the slight slope under the arch into the courtyard. Accessible toilets and baby changing are listed; contact the centre about current lift or equipment needs.
Official access information ↗
Visiting with children
Ask about the current discovery activities and choose exhibition content that suits your children. Workshops and special events have their own dates and charges. A short gallery look, snack and advice about a suitable beach can work better than expecting an all-day indoor play venue.

Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.

Make it part of your day

Allow 45–90 minutes for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
