St Non’s Chapel ruins and well

Visit the small ruined chapel and nearby holy well traditionally associated with the birthplace of St David. The open coastal setting gives this modest site its character, and it makes a different visit from the cathedral’s large interior. Before you go

Choose daylight and conditions suitable for an uneven outdoor path. A short chapel visit is different from completing a long coast-path circuit via Porthclais; decide the return route before leaving town.

Tickets and booking: Ordinary entry is free during reasonable daylight hours. The small parking area has limited capacity; avoid blocking local access. Take food and water and plan toilets in the city. The modern chapel and retreat centre are separate places with their own arrangements.
Access and getting around: Cadw describes an uneven path and two kissing gates from the small parking area, within about 100 metres. There are no designated disabled parking spaces. Wear footwear with grip and contact Cadw about specific mobility needs; do not assume that a stile-free wider walk is wheelchair accessible.

Visiting with children: Supervise around the low ruins, well and coastal paths. Keep the visit short in windy weather and choose a route that avoids tired children having to continue along exposed cliffs. The historic remains are for looking at, not climbing.
