Royal history / STIRLING
Stirling Castle
Give the castle a proper morning: the Royal Palace, Great Hall and Chapel Royal reveal a royal residence as well as a defensive stronghold. Courtyards and views open out between the buildings, so the experience involves outdoor walking even when most of your interests are indoors. Choose a few priorities and leave space for lunch before continuing down through the Old Town.

Check the current arrival notice before driving: ordinary visitor cars are currently excluded from the castle car park. Allow for the uphill approach from the city, and travel without large luggage.

- Access and getting around
- Cobbled slopes link the buildings. A mobility vehicle may help with part of the route, subject to staffing and vehicle dimensions. Some main rooms have level access, while kitchens and parts of the regimental museum involve steps. Adapted toilets and limited accessible parking are listed; discuss your intended route before booking.
