Anne Hathaway’s childhood home in Shottery combines surviving domestic rooms with a garden and orchard setting. It offers a different view of family life from the town-centre Birthplace. Allow time outside: the cottage alone is not the whole reason to make the journey.
The cottage is in Shottery, not on the compact central trail. The Trust suggests a 30–35 minute walk each way from town; use its map and allow longer if you prefer an easier pace.

- Book the cottage and check seasonal opening. If driving, read the separate car park payment arrangements; a combined house ticket is not a transport plan.
- Access and getting around
- Wheelchairs and pushchairs cannot be used inside the cottage, which has entrance steps and uneven floors. Reception has level access; garden paths slope and orchard areas can be uneven. Read the access guide before buying a house-focused visit.
