Padstow Harbour

Start beside the inner harbour to understand Padstow before choosing a longer outing. Fishing boats, quays and the streets behind them make a satisfying short circuit, with places to stop for food. This remains a working port: watching from the public quays is part of the pleasure, while operational areas belong to the people using them.

Keep the harbour as the flexible part of your day. Museum opening, house tours and the ferry need more attention to the clock than a walk beside the boats.

Tickets and booking: No admission ticket is needed for the public harbour walk. Parking, food, ferries and boat trips cost separately. Harbour visitor facilities for berthed boats are not general public facilities.
Access and getting around: Choose the public quays that suit your mobility and leave room around working equipment. Crowds, quay edges and the climb into upper town affect the route; this short harbour visit need not include the uphill streets or beach approaches.

Visiting with children: Keep children beside you near open water and give crews room to work. A short boat-spotting circuit works well before lunch; the quays are not a play beach.
