Theatre, music and cinema / ALNWICK
Alnwick Playhouse
Alnwick Playhouse offers a programme-led visit beside Bondgate Tower, with live performance and cinema in a building that began as a picture house. A booked film can give a wet afternoon a clear shape, while a show can become the focus of an evening. Choose the title and space first, then fit a meal or a bookshop browse around the actual start time.

Reserve wheelchair spaces or specific access seating through the box office. The upstairs bar has no wheelchair access, but drinks can be enjoyed in accessible areas.
The practical details
- Where to find it
- Bondgate Without, Alnwick NE66 1PQ, beside Bondgate Tower and a short walk from Barter Books.
Directions and arrival information ↗ - Tickets and booking
- Book the actual performance or screening, not just a day when the building or café is open. Show times, food service and box-office hours follow different calendars. Carer concessions are conditional and are not generally free. Check parking signs for disc requirements and time limits behind the venue.
- Access and getting around
- The main auditorium and studio have limited wheelchair spaces booked through the box office. The ground floor has an accessible toilet without a RADAR-key requirement and baby changing. Hearing support is available. Discuss walking aids, assistance dogs and seat access when booking; not every part of the building has the same access.
Official access information ↗ - Visiting with children
- Choose a film certificate or production age recommendation that fits the children. Under-12s must be accompanied; a young child’s ticket or lap-seat arrangement depends on the event. Pushchairs can be left in a designated area at the owner’s risk.
Practical information checked 14 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Make it part of your day
Allow screening or show time plus arrival for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
