Gardens, play and a longer parkland wander / ARMAGH
Walk into the former archbishops’ estate for a change from the city’s enclosed collections. The grounds combine formal areas with a much larger parkland setting, so choose a route for the available time and energy. A visit can stay close to the gardens and play area without becoming a long estate walk.

This recommendation is for the grounds. Palace rooms have limited public access and the Archbishop’s chapel is currently unavailable; neither is a guaranteed addition to a park visit.
Practical information checked 16 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 45 minutes–2 hours for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
