The promenade is a firmer walking option than the sand. Choose the length that suits the wind and your return journey; reaching the far end is optional.

- Ordinary beach and promenade access is free. Parking, food and organised events are separate. Facilities and refreshments may have seasonal hours, so check what is open before depending on a particular stop.
- Access and getting around
- Parts of the promenade are suitable for wheelchair users in normal conditions, but check access points, road crossings and temporary works. Sand is a different surface and can be difficult for wheeled equipment. Coastal exposure can limit comfort.

- Allow time for beach play or the play park, and stay close to children near water. Check tides, weather and current bathing-water advice before paddling; do not infer safe conditions from a calm-looking photograph.
