Burns through objects and art →
Use the cottage’s shorter opening window first, then decide whether to continue to Rozelle after a break and separate transfer.
Art indoors and sculpture outside / AYR
Explore the changing exhibitions and local collections at Rozelle, then look for sculpture and woodland details in the surrounding park if the weather suits. Paintings inspired by Tam o’ Shanter provide a different way into Burns’ stories, while the Maclaurin Gallery adds another art space to the same visit.

Exhibitions change and only a selection of the Tam o’ Shanter paintings is normally displayed. Check the current programme rather than expecting every work in the collection to be on view.
Practical information checked 16 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 1.5–3 hours, depending on park time for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
