Budle Point walk from Bamburgh

Follow the public walking route from Bamburgh towards Budle Point for wider coastal views beyond the castle beach. The route crosses the local golf-course landscape and brings a different outlook towards Budle Bay and Holy Island when visibility allows. Choose it as the day’s main walk, with time for the return and a meal in the village.

Before you go

Carry a current map and follow public-path signs through the golf course, keeping clear of play. Turn back at a suitable point if the weather deteriorates; there is no need to add a shoreline scramble or a longer route to Belford.

Tickets and booking: No walking admission charge. Parking, food and transport are separate. Follow current rights-of-way signs and any temporary restrictions. The four-mile planning allowance refers to the tourism-board walk, not the seven-mile route to Belford or the longer coast path.
Access and getting around: This is a country/coastal walk with uneven ground, exposed sections and a golf-course crossing. It is different from a level promenade and requires suitable footwear and a current route map. Choose a shorter out-and-back section if the full distance does not suit; do not use the sand as an assumed accessible shortcut.

Visiting with children: Best for children happy with a sustained walk. Bring water, snacks and layers, stay together near golf play and agree the return point before anyone is tired. For a shorter family outing, use the castle beach instead.
