House & parkland / NEAR BATH

Dyrham Park

Head beyond Bath for a country-house outing with gardens and open parkland. Choose the rooms, garden or outdoor route that interests you most, and allow a separate block of time for the journey and a meal.

Before you go

Check house and park opening separately. The main car park is above the house, so factor the downhill journey and return uphill into your plans. Arrange any needed mobility transport in advance with the property.

The practical details

Where to find it
Dyrham, South Gloucestershire SN14 8HY. The main visitor entrance is off the A46, north of Bath.
Directions and arrival information ↗
Tickets and booking
Check admission, parking and membership arrangements, plus the exact areas open on your date. There is currently no direct public transport from Bath; if using a taxi, arrange both journeys.
Access and getting around
Parkland is steep and uneven in places. The house’s ground floor has level access; upstairs access differs. The property offers mobility transport with capacity and equipment limits, so confirm arrangements before relying on it.
Official access information ↗
Visiting with children
A play stop at Old Lodge can be part of an outdoor visit. Decide how much walking your children will manage before adding a house visit, and check the current family programme for any dated activities.

Practical information checked 14 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.

Make it part of your day

Allow 3–4 hours for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
