John Bunyan Museum
Follow the life of the Bedford preacher and author of The Pilgrim’s Progress, including the beliefs and imprisonment that shaped his writing. The museum gives a focused subject to a short town-centre visit. You need not have read the book to explore its connections with Bedford and the choices faced by its author.

The main museum gallery is upstairs, with a lift arrangement described by the operator. Check its suitability before arriving; the church, café and museum do not share identical opening times.

- Individual admission is free; larger organised groups and school activities can be charged. Normal museum opening is Tuesday–Saturday in its main season, with December closure and reduced January opening. Arrive well before closing: official pages differ on last admission.
- Access and getting around
- The first-floor gallery has a lift described by the museum as suitable for wheelchair users or a seated transfer. Some flooring has a cobbled effect; contact the museum about your chair and route. Ramp access serves the church and basement gallery.

- Ask for the family trail and choose a few story moments rather than treating every panel as compulsory reading. School visits and larger groups need separate arrangements.
