Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery
Put Birmingham’s art and industrial city story together in one central visit. The open collection includes the Pre-Raphaelite galleries, Staffordshire Hoard and Birmingham history displays, while Wild City gives families a different way into the museum. Choose two interests and leave time to look closely instead of trying to cover every open room.
The museum is only partly open: the level-2 Art Galleries and level-3 Ancient History Galleries remain closed. Check the current list of open spaces; the Pre-Raphaelite galleries are among those available. General entry needs no booking.

- General admission is free with donations welcome. Some exhibitions and events charge separately. Check the term-time calendar, especially before a Monday visit.
- Access and getting around
- Use the Gas Hall entrance on Edmund Street for lift access; the main Chamberlain Square approach has substantial stairs. The Industrial Gallery balcony and picnic space have stairs-only access. Read the museum’s detailed toilet and route guidance before arriving.

- Wild City is a family gallery. Baby changing and accessible toilets are listed, but the picnic area requires stairs; plan a different food break if using a pushchair or wheelchair.
