A short wildlife walk on reclaimed land / NEAR BLAENAVON
Choose a modest lakeside walk and a pause for birds at Garn Lakes. The reserve offers a different view of Blaenavon’s industrial landscape: former working land now provides open grassland and wetland habitats. It is a useful outdoor outing in its own right, or a gentle change of pace after a railway visit, without committing to a long upland trail.

Pick a turning point that leaves an easy return. Wind and wet ground can make a short exposed walk feel more demanding than the map suggests.
