Seafront / BOURNEMOUTH
Boscombe Pier
Boscombe’s pier makes a focused seaside outing east of the central resort. Walk onto the deck for the view back towards the beach, then decide whether to add a stretch of promenade or stop for refreshments near the entrance. It gives a shorter alternative to committing to a long coastal walk.

Plan your journey to Boscombe separately if you have young children or limited walking stamina. Walking there from Bournemouth Pier is a substantial outing once the return is included.
The practical details
- Where to find it
- Undercliff Drive, Boscombe, Bournemouth, BH5 1BN.
Directions and arrival information ↗ - Tickets and booking
- General pier entry is free according to the official listing. Check on-the-day closure notices; fishing and optional activities are separate from a stroll.
- Access and getting around
- Ask the seafront team about current pier access and the best approach from your parking or bus stop. Do not infer a step-free route down from the clifftop from the pier’s position on the promenade.
Official access information ↗ - Visiting with children
- Keep children close on the deck and near the water. The pier visit can be brief; leave play and food time as separate parts of the outing.
Practical information checked 14 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Make it part of your day
Allow 30–60 minutes, longer with beach time for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
