Bournemouth Beach and promenade
The sandy shore beside Pier Approach is the easiest place to combine sea air with the town centre. Spend time on the sand or follow a manageable section of promenade, with the gardens and Oceanarium close enough to change plans. You do not need to book a water activity to enjoy the setting.
Choose your return point before walking away from the centre. A short outward stroll becomes twice the distance if you leave your car or bags at Pier Approach.

- No general beach admission ticket. Parking, beach huts, refreshments and attractions cost extra. Check seasonal dog restrictions before bringing a dog.
- Access and getting around
- The council lists accessible toilets by the pier. Firm promenade and soft sand offer different access conditions; contact the beach office about suitable approaches and current beach-wheelchair arrangements.
