Hengistbury Head Nature Reserve
At the eastern end of Bournemouth, the reserve changes the pace from resort promenade to coastal paths and harbour views. Begin at the visitor centre to choose a walk that suits the conditions and your energy. The flatter harbourside option and the climb towards Warren Hill are different outings, not interchangeable routes.
Make the reserve a separate half-day. Check the return journey before taking a ferry or land train, and keep enough energy to get back without relying on an unconfirmed final departure.

- Hengistbury Head Visitor Centre, Bournemouth, BH6 4EN; the operator recommends BH6 4EW for vehicle sat-nav.

- No general ticket for a reserve walk. Car parking, land train, ferries and some events cost extra. Check service dates and conditions before planning a transport connection.
- Access and getting around
- A tarmac approach links the Hiker Café car park and visitor centre. The headland climb is more demanding; ask a ranger for an appropriate route. The centre has a lift and accessible toilets.

- A short out-and-back walk is more manageable than a full headland circuit for small children. Carry water and layers and follow ranger notices around wildlife, paths and cliffs.
