Birdland Park & Gardens

Spend an unhurried visit among aviaries, gardens and Penguin Shore on Bourton’s Rissington Road. The penguin viewing areas are a natural focus, with other bird habitats giving reasons to explore further. Allow enough time to stop and watch rather than trying to fit the park between several short-ticket attractions.

Check the keeper-talk timetable when you arrive and work one chosen session into your route. Penguin feeding experiences are separate bookable activities; an ordinary ticket does not include taking part.

Tickets and booking: Book or check admission with Birdland, including the total online charge and parking separately. Eligible essential companions pay a reduced charge rather than entering free; the required Access Card or Birdland Digital Access Pass must be arranged ahead. Check the current eligibility rules before paying.
Access and getting around: Most of the park is step-free, with tarmac, compact gravel and some grass. Free manual wheelchairs can be reserved ahead; scooters are allowed but not hired. Accessible toilets and a Changing Places facility are listed. Bird calls, microphones and crowds can be noisy; use the operator’s access information to plan a quieter visit.

Visiting with children: Under-threes enter free; older children need a ticket and appropriate adult supervision. Bring waterproof layers and allow a food break. Families using a buggy have more route flexibility here than at the Model Village, though grassy sections need their own judgement in wet weather.
