A Bridgend town half-day →
Keep the route close to town and let one history stop set the pace.
A short walk through a river-crossing town / BRIDGEND
Use the Old Bridge and central streets to understand how Bridgend grew around the Ogmore crossing. Browse at your own pace, notice the older buildings and leave room for a café stop instead of treating shopping as a compulsory attraction. The route can be a brief introduction before the castle, or the whole outing when you want an undemanding town visit.

Keep the lower town and bridge as one small circuit if you do not want the steep ascent to Newcastle Hill. Shops, cafés and indoor venues have their own opening times.
Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 45–90 minutes for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
