Hove Museum of Creativity

Hove’s small museum suits a slower visit to craft, local history and childhood collections. The upstairs Wizard’s Attic offers old toys to compare with those children know today. Make the journey west deliberately: this is a different neighbourhood visit, rather than a museum immediately beside Brighton’s pier.

Before you go

Check opening days before setting off: the regular schedule currently excludes Tuesday and Wednesday. The operator reports the lift out of service; the toy gallery is upstairs. Wheelchair access is restricted to the ground floor independently of the lift repair.

Tickets and booking: General entry is free; some organised events or sessions may charge. Check the museum calendar. Buses from North Street or Churchill Square serve New Church Road; the museum suggests about 20 minutes aboard, plus waiting and the walk from your stop.
Access and getting around: Wheelchairs are restricted to the ground floor because the first-floor fire exit cannot accommodate them. The lift is also currently out of service, affecting other visitors who cannot use stairs. Confirm access to the collections you want before travelling.

Visiting with children: Choose it for a modest-length visit and conversation about toys from different generations. The upstairs toy displays are not a substitute for a large indoor play centre.
