Give Bristol’s aircraft-making story a dedicated outing, with aviation exhibits leading to Concorde Alpha Foxtrot. Seeing the aircraft at close quarters is the main draw, but the surrounding displays make clear how much local engineering sits behind it. The museum is north of the city, so include the journey in your decision.

The museum recommends at least three hours. Follow its actual entrance map on Hayes Way: the postcode alone can misdirect you. Public transport also involves a walk from the bus stop.
