Causeway geology and a Bushmills return →
Settle the parking or transport and ticket choice before travelling to the coast.
Basalt columns and an Atlantic landscape / NEAR BUSHMILLS
Walk to the famous basalt columns using the public right of way, with time to observe their shapes and the surrounding coast. Pedestrian access to the stones is free; the National Trust’s paid Visitor Experience adds services such as the exhibition, guided interpretation and reserved parking.

Decide which visit you want before travelling. Free walking access does not include the main visitor car park, and the paid Visitor Experience is not a compulsory ticket to see the stones on foot.
Practical information checked 16 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 2–3 hours, plus the journey from bushmills for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
