Carmarthen Blue Plaque Trail

Follow the Civic Society’s trail to connect Carmarthen’s streets with writers, campaigners, architects and other people commemorated on its buildings. Read a few stories carefully and look at the setting around each plaque. You can select a short central section rather than completing every stop, leaving space for a gallery or café along the way.

Open the actual trail before setting out and select a manageable section. Plaques are viewed from public streets; their presence does not grant entry to a home, business or other building.

Tickets and booking: The self-guided trail is free. Use the Civic Society’s current map, respect private premises and keep clear of doorways when stopping to read.
Access and getting around: Public streets include slopes, crossings, kerbs and narrow sections. Review the map for your route and shorten it to suit mobility and stamina; this is not a certified step-free circuit.

Visiting with children: Choose a handful of plaques and look for dates or occupations rather than setting a long reading task. Build in a park break if children have had enough of streets.
