CHELTENHAM GUIDE Independent ideas for your day out

Theatre and performance / CHELTENHAM

Everyman Theatre

The Everyman’s historic main auditorium makes a booked performance part of the experience, with Frank Matcham’s theatre architecture surrounding the stage. Choose the production first, then build a meal and a short central walk around its start time. The smaller Irving Studio has its own programme and layout, so check which space your ticket actually puts you in.

Before you go

Book for the performance and seating area that suit you. A lift in the building does not mean every auditorium seat can be reached without steps.

The practical details

Where to find it
Regent Street, Cheltenham GL50 1HQ, beside the Regent Arcade.
Directions and arrival information ↗
Tickets and booking
Reserve seats for the correct date, auditorium and performance. Matinees are programme-dependent and late entry is not guaranteed. Allow time for ticket collection and arrival; Saturday matinee parking can be busy. Access concessions and companion arrangements require the theatre’s own eligibility and booking checks.
Access and getting around
Wheelchair positions are in the left Stalls of the main house; visitors remaining in a wheelchair cannot use the Circle or upper levels. Other seats may involve steps and evacuation requirements. Ask the access team about seating, listening support and toilets before booking. The car-park route through the shopping centre is unavailable when it is closed.
Official access information ↗
Visiting with children
Select a specifically suitable show and read its age guidance. Under-twos are strongly discouraged except for designated productions, and under-12s need an accompanying adult. A family matinee is a planned ticketed commitment, not an indoor drop-in activity.

Practical information checked 14 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.

Make it part of your day

Allow performance time plus arrival for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
