Before you go
The estate gates are not the castle entrance. From Chirk station the whole approach is around a mile and a half, and the final route from the visitor car park climbs uphill.

- Check the date calendar, last-entry times and high-wind notices before travelling. The wider estate and parking are free, but admission is needed for the castle, gardens and tearoom. Do not assume free estate access includes those areas.
- Access and getting around
- The Trust states that the castle interior has no wheelchair or step-free access. An accessible garden route and accessible toilets are available. The volunteer shuttle is not guaranteed every day, and mobility equipment should be reserved; discuss the exact visit you want.
