Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life
Explore Lanarkshire’s industrial story through the exhibition hall, historic buildings and outdoor site. Summerlee combines machinery and working-life history with Miners Row and a playground, so you can choose the parts that interest your group. It is a substantial museum visit rather than several separate attractions to tick off.

The wheelchair-accessible tram is currently under repair. Check any tram operation and charges separately rather than assuming a ride is included in free museum entry.

- Ordinary museum entry is free and normal small-group visits do not need booking; groups of ten or more and schools should arrange ahead. Current regular hours are daily 10–4, extended during local school holidays. Special events and optional rides can have separate arrangements.
- Access and getting around
- The exhibition hall is accessible, with lifts to the gallery and Ironworks viewing pod. Outdoor areas and historic features vary. The operator currently lists the accessible tram as under repair; discuss your needs before relying on a particular route or vehicle.

- Combine a few displays with Miners Row or playground time rather than expecting children to read every label. Under-14s need an accompanying adult. Bikes, scooters and skateboards cannot be ridden inside the museum grounds.
