Tickets and booking: Published season: 28 March–1 November 2026, weekdays 10am–4pm and weekends noon–4pm, last entry 3.30pm. Buy on the door or book online ahead; ordinary adults and older children pay, with eligible concessions. This is separate from the closed Henry Blogg Museum.
Access and getting around: A lift links the public floors, with accessible toilets and baby changing downstairs. The operator warns that the lift cannot be used in a fire and upper-floor visitors may need to negotiate stairs during evacuation. Discuss this before relying on the lift; collection information can be provided downstairs.

Visiting with children: Choose a few fossils and objects to investigate rather than reading every label. Under-fours enter free and under-fourteens need an adult. Check current family activities separately from ordinary admission.
