Barony A-frame
See the preserved pit-head structure that marks the former Barony Colliery near Auchinleck. Interpretation and the scale of the engineering help explain an industrial landscape that has otherwise changed considerably. This is an outdoor heritage stop, best combined with another local interest rather than treated as an underground mine tour.

- The outdoor memorial is free to explore; the access survey lists no fixed daily opening and confirms free parking. Events have their own arrangements. There are no public toilets, so plan facilities elsewhere.
- Access and getting around
- The council-commissioned access survey records step-free entry, largely level paved approaches and nearby parking with designated spaces. Check current conditions and use the marked paths rather than exploring former industrial ground.
