Deal seafront and Middle Street
Pair the broad promenade with the smaller streets behind the shore. The contrast is the attraction: fishing boats and shingle on one side, then cottages, townhouses and the traces of an old maritime community inland. Use Middle Street as the focus for a slow look at the buildings, keeping private doorways clear.
This is a pebble beach, not a sandy play beach. The promenade is the simpler route for wheels and a short stroll.

- No admission ticket is needed for an ordinary public-street and promenade walk. Allow separately for parking, refreshments and shopping. Follow local notices and current weather conditions.
- Access and getting around
- The promenade and the older streets have different surfaces. Narrow pavements, road crossings and uneven sections need more care in the conservation area; choose a shorter seafront section if those are unsuitable.

- Make a small observation game from boats, building details and changing sea views. Keep beach time separate from a swimming plan and do not climb on fishing equipment. Shorten the walk when wind or tired legs make it less enjoyable.
