An adjustable former-railway outing / DOLLAR
Choose a local out-and-back on the Devon Way rather than treating the full route towards Alloa as a casual stroll. The former railway gives a different view of the landscape from the glen, with room to set your own pace and turn back before the outing becomes tiring. It pairs well with town refreshments or a museum visit during opening.

The whole Devon Way is much longer than this suggested local walk. Agree a turnaround and keep enough time and energy for the return.
Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 45–90 minutes, including the return for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
