Dollar Glen

Explore a suitable part of the wooded glen on its established paths, looking at the burns and the landscape below Castle Campbell. This is a real countryside walk with slopes and uneven ground, not a flat waterside promenade. Decide on a route and turnaround before setting off, and let weather, path notices and the least confident walker shape the visit.

Wet steps and steep ground matter more than the distance on a map. Do not enter the water or follow canyoning groups from the ordinary walking paths.

Tickets and booking: No ordinary walking admission is required, but parking charges can apply. NTS membership parking terms do not make all visitor parking free. Castle admission and guided canyoning are separate paid activities.
Access and getting around: The National Trust for Scotland describes strenuous, uneven paths unsuitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Check current bridge and path notices. There are no toilets in the glen; make a town stop beforehand.

Visiting with children: Choose this only for children comfortable on uneven, steep paths, with close adult supervision. A gentler Devon Way outing may suit a pushchair or tired group better.
