Yorkshire Wildlife Park

Make the wildlife park the main outing rather than an extra after several museums. Choose a few animal areas that interest your group, then use the map to build a manageable route with food and rest stops. Animals have their own routines, so seeing a particular species active at a particular time is never something a photograph can promise.

Before you go

Use the current visitor entrance at Hurst Lane, Auckley, rather than an old Branton approach saved in a sat-nav. Leave enough time to walk between areas and note that some sections close before the final park closing time.

Tickets and booking: Choose dated admission and check inclusions and any separate experience booking. The neighbouring Yorkshire Hive is not the same as paid wildlife-park entry. Review weather and the last-entry time before travelling.
Access and getting around: The park offers detailed access guidance and limited wheelchair, scooter and stroller hire; book equipment in advance if needed. Surfaces and gradients differ, particularly on natural paths, so choose the route around your requirements.

Visiting with children: Plan regular breaks and a realistic set of priorities. Keep children behind barriers and use handwashing guidance; a visit can be rewarding without reaching every enclosure or buying an additional experience.
