South Foreland Lighthouse

Give the lighthouse its own generous walking allowance. Tickets and booking: Grounds are free during normal opening, but tower tours are ticketed. Obtain a tour ticket on arrival, including members. The lighthouse is seasonal and does not open every day outside school holidays; check the current date-specific calendar.
Access and getting around: The upper tower is stairs-only. Grounds include grass, gravel and slopes; ramps serve some ground-floor spaces. Visitors unable to walk should contact the property in advance about special access arrangements.

Visiting with children: Choose this for children comfortable with a longer walk and tower stairs. Lawn games or kite borrowing may be available when facilities are open. Keep a shorter cliff walk as the alternative for tired legs.
