Overtoun Estate

Head north-east of the town for public estate paths among woodland and landscaped grounds at the foot of the Kilpatrick Hills. The estate offers a quieter walking purpose than the riverside park, but needs its own journey and suitable footwear. Overtoun House is used privately as a Christian centre; the public estate should not be mistaken for a regularly open house-tour attraction.

Before you go

Plan the access route before leaving town. Do not walk along the A82 verge to reach the estate.

Tickets and booking: Public estate walking is free. Check current route conditions and any separate refreshments opening; house interiors are not included.
Access and getting around: Woodland routes include uneven ground, slopes and changes in level. Use current paths and notices; the estate is not advertised here as a fully accessible circuit.

Visiting with children: Choose a manageable path and supervise near burns, bridges and drops. The house is not a promised indoor attraction if children tire or weather changes.
