University of Dundee Botanic Garden

Head west of the central waterfront for a slower visit among trees and plant collections. Choose a manageable route, notice seasonal changes and leave space to sit rather than treating the garden as another checklist of specimens. Glasshouses add variety, but the wider garden remains an outdoor experience.

The former coffee shop has closed. Bring what you need for a comfortable visit and arrange refreshments elsewhere; do not plan the day around an on-site café.

Tickets and booking: Current opening is daily 10:00–15:30, last entry 15:00; buy online or at the entrance. The university has committed to basic operation through July 2027 while longer-term arrangements are considered. Recheck before a later trip.
Access and getting around: The university describes buggy-friendly paths and provides detailed access information through AccessAble. Check surfaces, gradients and glasshouse routes if specific access is important; outdoor conditions can affect comfort.

Visiting with children: Under-16s currently enter free, but ordinary adult admission is paid. Self-guided trails can give children something to look for. Leave bicycles and scooters out of the walking plan and check garden rules.
