EAGLESHAM GUIDE Independent ideas for your day out

Renewable energy and an open moorland landscape / EAGLESHAM

Whitelee Windfarm Visitor Centre and trails

Begin in the visitor centre to make sense of the turbines outside, then choose an outdoor route appropriate to your group. The contrast between the exhibits and the scale of the windfarm is the point of the visit. You do not need to tackle a long trail to appreciate it, and a short out-and-back walk can leave more time for questions and a break.

Directions and arrival information ↗
Tickets and booking
The centre currently opens daily 10:00–17:00 with free entry and parking. Trails have separate access from building hours. Bus tours charge and can be cancelled for weather or operational reasons; check availability directly.
Access and getting around
The centre has wheelchair-accessible entrances, an accessible toilet and limited disabled parking. Outdoor tracks vary and are exposed. Ask about a suitable route and reserve any wheelchair space on a bus tour rather than assuming it will be available.

Visiting with children
Exhibits can give children a way into the subject before a short outdoor look. Choose a turnaround point before everyone gets tired and take layers. Ask about current family or quieter sessions; these are not guaranteed throughout every day.

Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.

Make it part of your day

Allow 1.5–3 hours for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
