EBBW VALE GUIDE Independent ideas for your day out

A community landscape above the valley / NEAR EBBW VALE

Beaufort Hill Ponds and Woodlands

Walk around a chosen part of this community-managed landscape, where ponds, trees and open ground give a different perspective on the industrial valley below. A short outing can concentrate on one pond and the changing vegetation rather than covering the whole reserve. Leave time to stop and listen as well as walk.

Before you go

This is an upland site: bring an extra layer and shorten the route if the weather makes the open ground uncomfortable. Keep children close beside the ponds.

Visiting with children
Choose a small loop with a clear turning point, looking at trees and pond life from the path. Water edges need supervision and refreshments should be planned separately.
