Exeter Cathedral

The cathedral suits visitors who want a substantial architectural stop in the heart of Exeter. The newer cloister connection and Chapter House café make it possible to pause without immediately heading back into the shopping streets.

Choose a day when the Treasures Exhibition is open if that is a priority: it currently closes on Wednesdays and Sundays. A floor tour is included subject to availability; specialist tours have separate arrangements.

Tickets and booking: Sightseeing is paid; accompanying carers enter free. General admission includes audio guides, a floor tour subject to availability and the Treasures Exhibition when open. Check the daily timetable for services, events and conservation-related changes; roof and other special tours are separate.
Access and getting around: Most ground-level areas have step-free access. Lifts serve the Friends’ Cloister Gallery and Treasures Exhibition. Accessible toilets and a Changing Places facility are available; specialist tours have additional restrictions.

Visiting with children: Under-18s within a family group enter free for general sightseeing. Baby-changing facilities and a family WC are available. Worship and prayer remain free for everyone.
