Flint Foreshore and the coast path

Follow a manageable section of the Wales Coast Path from the castle area, using the shore-side views and local interpretation to explore Flint’s connection with the Dee. The interest changes with the tide and light: this is an estuary landscape, not a beach resort or a route out across the mud.

Before you go

Choose a turning point before setting off. Longer signed routes towards Bagillt and Holywell need their own return-transport plan; they are not short castle loops.

Tickets and booking: No general walking admission. Parking and refreshments are separate; check signs and the weather before using exposed shore-side sections.
Access and getting around: The official coast-path information describes a mostly surfaced, flat local section, but onward routes and access points vary. Check local notices, crossings and the surface of the section you choose.

Visiting with children: Keep children on the path and away from tidal mud and water. A short out-and-back with a snack is a better first outing than committing to the full onward route.
