A Wednesday-to-Saturday town plan that respects the museum’s afternoon opening.
Gardens around a Norman keep / GUILDFORD
Explore the garden paths and look up at the castle keep before deciding whether to add the seasonal paid tower visit. The grounds offer a worthwhile outdoor pause in the town without climbing the keep. Choose a comfortable route rather than assuming every part of the sloping site is equally easy to reach.

Grounds are free; the keep is a separate paid visit. Current keep opening is Wednesday–Saturday, noon–4.30pm, from 4 April to 3 October, with last entry at 4pm.
Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 45–75 minutes; longer with the keep for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
