Guildford Museum

Use objects, local stories and changing displays to explore Guildford and its Surrey setting. A focused visit on one or two subjects leaves time for the historic streets outside. This is a different collection from Guildford House Gallery, with its own afternoon opening pattern.

Before you go

The museum normally opens Wednesday–Saturday at noon. Do not plan an ordinary morning visit based on the gallery’s longer hours.

Tickets and booking: Free entry, normally Wednesday–Saturday noon–4.30pm, last entry 4pm. Check current displays and any particular session before travel.
Access and getting around: Entrance is currently via steps with a portable ramp available from staff. The toilet is not large enough for wheelchair users; check alternatives and the full access guide before travel. Some areas have low light.

Visiting with children: Activity sheets and the under-five Scullery Playroom support a shorter family visit. Ask about current availability; school workshops and booked sessions are separate.
