An artists’ home, galleries and a decorated chapel / NEAR GUILDFORD
Make a separate outing to Compton for the art and lives of George Frederic and Mary Watts. Choose the historic galleries and artists’ home as your main visits, then add the chapel or gardens if time and energy allow. The buildings are spread across the site, so this is not one entirely indoor museum route.

The paid galleries and Limnerslease normally open Tuesday–Sunday and bank holidays. The chapel has a different daily timetable and can close for private services.
Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 3–4 hours with a food break for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
