Valley Gardens
Follow the spa-town promenades through themed planting, old well buildings and the Sun Colonnade. Valley Gardens offers a more enclosed, varied walk than the broad lawns of the Stray, with a children’s play area and space to pause near the lower entrance opposite the museum.
Start at the Royal Parade entrance for a short garden visit. Continuing uphill into the Pinewoods changes the outing into a longer woodland walk; Harlow Carr is not just around the next corner.

- General park entry is free and the gardens are open year-round. Sports, events and seasonal facilities have their own arrangements. Use daylight for unfamiliar routes and check conditions after heavy rain.
- Access and getting around
- The Friends describe most paths as wheelchair-suitable and list accessible toilets. The park rises towards the Pinewoods; choose a route for your gradient tolerance and check current toilet availability. This does not establish an accessible through-route to Harlow Carr.
