Penistone Hill Country Park
Explore the paths and former quarry landscape on the edge of Haworth for a different view of Brontë Country. The council’s heritage circuit is about 2.4km and allows time to look at the working landscape as well as the moors. This is a countryside walk with uneven ground, not a landscaped village park.
Keep the Penistone Hill circuit separate from the longer paths to Brontë Waterfalls and Top Withens. Take the council map, suitable footwear and waterproof layers, and shorten or abandon the walk if visibility, wind or ground conditions deteriorate.

- Public walking does not require an attraction ticket. Follow current access and fire notices, keep dogs under control, take litter home and do not use barbecues on the moor. The heritage circuit does not include a waterfall or a visit to Top Withens; those require a separate longer route and weather plan.
- Access and getting around
- The council route includes slopes, rough tracks, grass, quarry edges and wet areas and is unsuitable for pushchairs or visitors needing a level route. Paths can be muddy and exposed. Keep away from quarry drops and ponds; plan toilets and food in the village before starting.

- Best for children comfortable walking on rough ground with close supervision near water and old quarry edges. Carry drinks and snacks and set a turn-back point. Choose Central Park instead when a buggy, play equipment or a shorter sheltered outing is the priority.
