Quarry history and a gentler outdoor pause / HOLYHEAD
Explore the old quarry landscape that supplied stone for the breakwater, with a lake and shorter paths offering an alternative to the mountain above. Pick a small circuit, look for traces of the working landscape and leave time to sit. A park visit does not require a summit climb or a walk along the entire breakwater.

Choose a route within the park before setting off. Paths towards Holyhead Mountain and South Stack are more demanding extensions, not part of every short visit.
Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 1–2 hours for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
