Holyhead Maritime Museum

Explore ship models and local maritime stories in the former lifeboat station on Newry Beach. The collection connects the harbour outside with journeys, wrecks and rescue work around this coast. Choose a few stories to follow, leaving time to look at the waterfront rather than treating the museum as merely somewhere to wait for a ferry.

Before you go

The regular season runs from Easter to the end of October, Tuesday–Sunday 10am–4pm with some extra Mondays. Check the date before relying on it for a wet-weather visit.

Tickets and booking: Paid adult admission; current child and concession terms checked directly. Seasonal opening, with occasional Mondays announced separately. The adjoining bistro has its own arrangements.
Access and getting around: Contact the museum about entrance, internal routes and the separate wartime shelter if mobility or enclosed spaces affect your visit. Access to every part should not be assumed from the waterfront location.

Visiting with children: Ship models and rescue stories give children a focused way into the collection. Accompanied children aged sixteen and under currently enter free; check current terms and consider the wartime subject before the shelter.
